A parallel world opens up in this sensorial experience brought to us by the excellent Jun Miyake, perhaps best known for the music he contributed to Wim Wenders’s Oscar-nominated documentary Pina.

On stage at the Centquatre in Paris, the trumpeter, pianist, and composer from Japan joins an eclectic group of musicians to unveil an whole universe of singular sonority. Voices blend and overlap in a dizzying yet coherent whole: along with hits like “The Here and After,” whose heady melody kicks off this epic program, and “Lilies of the Valley,” let yourself drift away on the mystical nuances of “Red Shadow,” interpreted by Bulgarian polyphonic ensemble Cosmic Voices, followed by the staggering Easturn. A captivating concert from first second to last, highly recommended to anyone in search of inspiration!
