While exploring the music of Korngold last week, I stumbled upon this concert from the Berlin Waldbühne — and learned that he had composed the score for The Adventures of Robin Hood, a silver-screen score for the ages. My smile only got bigger as I watched the full concert (filmed outdoors, which is always a plus): the Tom and Jerry theme song reminded me fondly of Saturday morning cartoons; the Ben-Hur score of watching that historical epic with my grandparents one memorable New Year; and the Star Wars theme, as always, of my brother. I whole-heartedly recommend this concert, guaranteed to stir up some of your favorite nostalgic memories too!
