I’m thrilled to share with you one of my favorite recent discoveries, recorded at Le Piano Symphonique Festival in Lucerne last month, where the young generation showed up in a big way: along with the amazing concerts given by rising star Yoav Levanon, 14-year-old French pianist Arielle Beck proved she deserved her spot in a field of big names.

Her playing—studied, seamless, and precise, especially in Schumann’s Humoreske and Mendelssohn’s incredibly difficult Variations sérieuses—promises a bright future for the young protégée of Martha Argerich. It’s always a joy to see artists of this calibre arrive on the scene!
